Saffron “crocus sativus”, a crocus species from the iris family gets special attention at DeliUniq.
The saffron plant originated in the Middle East. Today, saffron is mainly grown in Iran and Spain. Other growing areas are Morocco, Greece, Italy, Turkey and, surprisingly, Austria and Switzerland.
A natural taste explosion
DeliUniq has chosen saffron from the region around Mashhad (in northern Iran). This region has been considered one of the world’s best growing regions for saffron for centuries. The saffron from Mashhad is consistently produced without the use of chemicals. The tradition-rich saffron region focuses on naturalness and quality and thus corresponds exactly to our requirements.
In addition, we source saffron from Morocco at the foot of the Atlas Mountains. Here, too, the focus is on tradition and the highest quality of taste.
